A Black Tern at Hackberry Flats (wetland restoration outside of Frederick,OK)

Cliff Swallows gather in large numbers toward the latter half of July at Hackberry Flats. This flock held 4 Cave Swallows (1 ad. and 3 juveniles); these were subsequently been accepted as Oklahoma's first state record (see Grzybowkski and Fazio 2003 in Oklahoma Birds).

Common Nighthawks are common on prairie and frequently are active through the day.

Various Mississippi Kites

A unique photo containing both a White-faced Ibis and a Glossy Ibis; This was only about the 10th GLIB record for Oklahoma (20 July 01). However, there have been annual records since, including a couple more at Hackberry Flat.
